Sorting SHA woes • The rollout of the Social Health Insurance Fund under the Social Health Authority (SHA) has been troubled, but David Waireri has figured out a solution. Says he: “Just like in the National Health Insurance Fund, the SHA should include in its software system a provision for one to be able to confirm current payments by SMS with an ID number.” His contact is [email protected].

Raila • A conversation Dr Kennedy Mochabo had in the Mt Kenya region on Raila Odinga’s African Union Commission chairperson bid left him stunned. Says he: “When I explained that it is a Kenyan running against two Francophone rivals, I was told they want him to lose so he can checkmate President William Ruto for their region to remain relevant.” His contact is [email protected].

Youth • As he belatedly showers new Deputy President Kithure Kindiki with congratulations, Nassir Daudi is also eyeing possible openings for himself, as he believes he has some valuable experience in youth affairs that he could put to good use. “I’m very passionate about empowering fellow young people with impactful initiatives.” He can be reached through his email address, [email protected].

Modesty • There should be no hullabaloo on how one should give donations to the poor, says David Githae. However, he wishes the willing donors, especially the political elite, could be advised on the best way to do it. “Giving should always be free and secretly done. If it is not show-off, the true givers need not announce how much they have given.” His contact is [email protected].

No trust • Returning a generous donation given to a charity or project by the holder of the highest office in the land, the presidency, is a national embarrassment and confirmation of lack of public confidence, says Jim Webo. “President William Ruto shouldn’t just take it lightly. He and his Kenya Kwanza coalition allies should go back to the drawing board and establish what has gone wrong and fix it.”

Have a soul-searching day, won’t you!
