Sponsored by Lamu Shipping Limited
Lamu Shipping Limited has launched a new feeder service connecting Kenya and Somalia. The new route linking the ports of Mombasa and Mogadishu offers a reliable shipping connection for the two countries.
The Mombasa-Mogadishu Feeder service will deploy a container vessel, MV ‘AMU JAMEEL’, that has a nominal capacity of 1,083twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) and a service speed of 14 Knots. LSL officials promise to land customer cargo from Mombasa to Mogadishu within 38 hours of sailing.
LSL is a shipping management firm that aspires to be a regional leader in Coastal Shipping and Ship Agency. Since commencing operations in 2018, it has progressively established strong stakeholder connections within and outside the maritime industry. Within a short period, this shipping firm has built a reputation among its clients and competitors that stands as a testimony to its excellent level of service.
The launch of the new route confirms that LSL understands the importance of regional integration and the maritime industry's role in connecting East Africa Region Trade blocks.
LSL officials say they look forward to partnering with clients on this route and offering a competitive service to grow the business in this shipping sector.
