Setting the standard for the future of transport in Kenya

Roam is a Kenyan technology company headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. The company designs, develops and produces electric vehicles tailored for Africa.

Roam was founded in 2017, becoming the first company to deliver locally designed and produced electric motorcycles and buses. This has defined its position as the leader in the sector.

The vehicles are attractive to organisations, as they can be used all day. For example, the motorcycles are designed specifically for commercial use, such as transporting passengers or cargo. The buses too, are built for public transport. Being electric, the vehicles contribute to carbon reduction.

With almost 100 employees today, Roam is one of the largest companies of its kind in the region, and has recently been mentioned as such in National Geographic. The company has also been named among "The 100 Most Innovative Companies in the World", by Time Magazine.

The next few months will be filled with exciting product launches, further ensuring that Roam stays true to its promise of “Electrifying Africa”. This will involve releasing the next-generation of electric motorcycles and buses tailored for the upcoming BRT operations in Nairobi, as well as charging solutions.

These accessible and reliable products will set the standard for the future of transport in Kenya and the continent. They will help build a safer, more equal, and cleaner environment.
