Distributors, wholesalers and retailers often face significant operational inefficiencies caused by reliance on manual processes and the use of fragmented systems.

These inefficiencies not only slow down daily operations but also hinder long-term growth and scalability.

Recognising this challenge, Dennis Omito founded Bizwiz ERP seven years ago through his company, RetailPay Limited.

Bizwiz ERP is an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software solution designed to streamline and unify business operations across the supply chain.

The platform enables businesses, mainly in the supply of goods, to integrate and manage a wide range of functions within a single, centralised system.

The key features of the platform include inventory management, procurement, sales tracking, order processing, order fulfilment, bank reconciliation, and comprehensive reporting tools.

“It also includes complementary modules such as point-of-sale (POS), a supplier portal, telematics integration, cloud hosting, and dedicated order and delivery apps,” explains Omito.

With over 20 years of experience in software design, development, implementation, and leading high-performance tech teams, Omito brought a deep understanding of both technology and business operations to the table.

His extensive background gave him a unique perspective on the everyday challenges faced by distributors and retailers, and how technology could be a game-changer.

“I saw an opportunity to give businesses a real hack, which is an intelligent, integrated system that simplifies operations and enhances visibility across the board,” he says, adding that the main goal of this tool is to empower businesses with real-time visibility and control over their operations, reduce errors, and improve efficiency.

“Bizwiz ERP helps businesses transition from disjointed, manual systems to a modern, digital-first approach, unlocking new levels of productivity and setting them up for sustainable growth,” he adds.

One of the tool’s standout features is its banking module, designed by distributors, for distributors. This module ensures that all Route Sales banking and Cash Sales receipts, drawn from various nominal accounts, are fully verified and automatically swept into your organisation’s main account.

The system not only simplifies reconciliation but also helps detect discrepancies, uncover potential fraud, and track debtors and outstanding balances with accuracy and ease.

Once an order is placed, Bizwiz takes full control of the fulfilment process. Its fleet tracking module offers real-time visibility into every delivery vehicle, right down to the driver, with details that include the route, speed, and the goods being transported.

“This enables companies to optimise delivery performance, reduce delays, and enhance customer satisfaction through transparent, data-driven logistics,” he adds.

Operational visibility and efficiency are at the heart of the app. Drivers follow predefined, geo-fenced delivery routes, ensuring that deviations are minimised and logistics remain streamlined, while managers benefit from real-time monitoring of vehicle performance and fuel consumption.

At the end of each shift, a detailed daily fuel trip summary is automatically generated, providing insights into usage patterns and opportunities for cost savings.

Having a seamless integration with Bizwiz’s geo-mapping module ensures that sales representatives can take orders on-site and issue invoices instantly, eliminating paperwork, speeding up transactions, and enhancing customer service.

“When we partnered with one of the largest distributors in the country, he challenged us to push the limits of the platform,” notes Omito. “His input led to major customisations that not only solved his unique operational challenges, but also helped us create solutions that address systemic problems in the distribution industry.”

Since then, the platform has gained significant traction, successfully onboarding some of Kenya’s largest distributors in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, alongside more than 300 manufacturers, into the Bizwiz Supplier Portal, a centralised platform designed to streamline procurement, communication, and fulfilment between suppliers and their distribution partners.

“Our core customers are distributors, wholesalers, and retailers,” says Omito. “We tailor our solutions to fit the scale and scope of each business.”

The cost of having the system as a distributor is usually flexible and based on the size of the organisation and the complexity of the implementation. Whether it's a small distributor or a nationwide retail chain, Bizwiz ERP is built to scale and adapt, offering tools that grow with your business.

Omito says his goal is to ensure his company becomes the leading provider of ERP and POS solutions in the FMCG sector globally.

“We aspire to revolutionise the way businesses operate within this industry by setting new standards for efficiency, innovation, and customer satisfaction,” he says, adding that he envisions a future where the technology serves as the backbone for the digital transformation of wholesalers, manufacturers, and retailers, helping them to achieve unparalleled success in an increasingly competitive and dynamic market.

“We believe that the future of the FMCG industry lies in smart, scalable, and fully integrated digital systems. Through Bizwiz ERP, we are empowering businesses to break free from fragmented workflows, manual processes, and operational blind spots.”

Through this innovation, Omito’s mission is to streamline the whole chain that includes the wholesalers, manufacturers, and retailers.

This enables them to operate more intelligently, respond faster to market demands, and achieve sustainable growth in an increasingly competitive and fast-paced environment.

“We envision a world where RetailPay’s technology powers the success of businesses across borders, transforming supply chains, unlocking new opportunities, and helping our customers thrive on a global scale,” adds Omito.
