21 partying teens arrested Webuye

Police in Webuye, Bungoma County have arrested 21 teenagers while smoking and drinking in a local club within the town.
Bungoma East police boss Valerian Obore said the youths were arrested on Sunday evening at about 5pm at Santa Barbara bar and restaurant.
Obore told the media that area residents tipped off the police of noise coming from the bar.
"Our officers, led by the OCS stormed the bar and arrested 14 girls and seven boys, all in their teens, plus a woman who is believed to have hosted the minors for a birthday party," he said.
Obore said that the manager of the entertainment joint was also arrested.
He said that the teens were aged between 14 and 17 years.
Officers found several crates of alcohol some that had been emptied.
Drugs and sex
Obore said that the teenagers are being detained at the station waiting for their parents to come and explain why they were in a bar.
"We want to call upon parents to take good care of their children who are at home during this pandemic period. They should keep an eye on their children so that they don't engage in sex and consumption of drugs," he said.
Anne Nanjala, a resident who resides near the restaurant, said that the bar popular with skimpily-dressed young girls.
She asked Bungoma Women Rep Catherine Wambilianga to intervene and have the club closed.
Several bar owners in Webuye town have been on the spot for operating beyond the curfew hours.

Several used condoms were found in the house where the teenagers were arrested.
