Police probe ‘paedophile’ who sells porn videos of himself defiling children in Nakuru
Police in Nakuru are investigating a sex scandal involving a 42-year-old man suspected of defiling more than 10 minors and filming the acts for sale as porn clips.
The suspect is said to have been targeting his victims through other minors who helped him scout for targets in Naka Estate at a fee of Sh500.
He would then sell the sex tapes for Sh9, 500.
The suspect reportedly confessed to the crimes when cornered by the parents of the victims in his apartment in Naka Estate after a 13-year-old girl went missing and later returned home defiled.
Two minors who were helping him find victims allegedly led the girl's parents to the suspect’s house, where he was cornered since they were the last people seen with her.
Nakuru Town East police boss Mohammed Wako said the suspect was arrested along with five other girls, all minors.
He said that last week, he received a distress call from the parents of the 13-year-old girl who confessed that she had been forcefully taken to a stranger's house and defiled.
"The girl had gone missing briefly and when the police arrived, they were led to the suspect’s house where he was arrested. While in custody, two girls who were also minors called the suspect's phone to inform him that they had found more girls for him. We set a trap and arrested them. In total, we have five girls, all minors, three of whom were intended victims," said Mr Wako on Sunday.
Police custody
According to Mr Wako, the suspects have since been escorted to court and detectives granted 14 days to hold them in custody as they continue their investigation.
He said they were yet to establish the exact number of girls the suspect has defiled but preliminary investigations suggest that more than 10 girls had fallen victims. Additionally, medical tests on some victims have returned positive results.
One of the victims who recounted her ordeal at the hands of the suspect said that two girls familiar to her—whom she knew from visiting her mother’s workplace—found her near their home.
They tricked her into escorting them to town to buy shoes lying that they would use a taxi, which she later learned belonged to the suspect.
However, instead of going to town, the vehicle was driven to the suspect’s house in Naka Estate where she was injected with an unknown substance and then offered a drink.
The victim allegedly said she began feeling dizzy on the couch while the other girls were in the kitchen. The suspect then grabbed her and took her to his bedroom, where he proceeded to defile her.
"I was already too weak and passed out. I regained consciousness while in the car on the way home. I was unaware of what had been done to me, though I was in pain. After they checked me, they learned that I had been defiled," she recalled.
Her parents reported the matter at the Nakuru Central Police Station vide OB number 107/7/11/2024, before proceeding to the hospital.
Bishop Isaac Kamau, a resident who accompanied the officers, said the suspect was found in the house and after interrogation, confessed to having committed the crime.
“When officers took his phone, what was found in it was shocking. He had recorded explicit videos of him sexually assaulting different minors,” said the Bishop.
