Police in Kericho County have discovered what they suspect is a mass grave within Kericho’s Makaburini area.

The shocking discovery was made on Saturday after two street boys who work as grave diggers in the public cemetery reported the matter at Kericho Police Station.

According to a police statement, the two street boys, aged 23 years and 26 years, reported that on Thursday morning, a motor vehicle arrived in the cemetery with three occupants.

The street boys reported that the occupants of the vehicle then held lengthy discussions with the caretaker at the cemetery whom they only identified as Ezekiel.

On Friday morning, around 6am, the same three persons, including the driver, returned to the cemetery aboard a white Land Cruiser.

The street boys claim that they were thereafter tasked with digging a mass grave wherein approximately 14 bodies, some mutilated, and all in body bags, were dumped into a single grave.
