A Kiambu court has set free John Mwangi, a former farmhand of politician Gladys Chania who is facing murder trial.

The farmhand will be a State witness in the murder case of Chania's husband, George Mwangi.

John went missing the same day the businessman was reported missing.

Mwangi's body was later found in Kieni Forest. Kiambu police said Mwangi was killed inside his house in Mang'u and his body ferried into the forest.

Police arrested Chania and charged her with murder alongside her new employee Morris Kamau Mbugua.

The two suspects were granted bond late last month.
