MP Aisha Jumwa exempted from court sessions
Former Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa during a past court date.

- She was freed on a Sh5 million bond with surety or a Sh2 million cash bail.
Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa will not be in court during the mention of her corruption case on October 2.
The prosecution did not oppose the MP’s defence team when it asked for the exemption. The court was told that the lawyers have been supplied with the files the prosecution intends to use during the proceedings.
Ms Jumwa is charged with conspiracy to defraud the public of Sh19 million belonging to the National Government-Constituency Development Fund, conflict of interest, money laundering and acquisition of proceeds of crime.
She was freed on a Sh5 million bond with surety or a Sh2 million cash bail.
The court declined to release the lawmaker on free bond as requested by her defence team which argued that she is not a flight risk and would attend court whenever required.
Ms Jumwa’s co-accused are Wachu Omar, Kennedy Otieno, Bernard Riba, Sophia Saidi, Margaret Kalume, Robert Katana and Multiserve contractors.
