Kirinyaga woman arrested over husband's murder
The woman allegedly stabbed her husband with a knife at Mocangondi village in Mwea Constituency following a domestic quarrel.

Police in Kirinyaga are holding a woman in connection to the brutal murder of her husband.
The woman allegedly stabbed her husband with a kitchen knife at Mocangondi village in Mwea Constituency following a domestic quarrel and later surrendered to Kimbimbi police post.
The couple reportedly picked a quarrel over unknown reasons which degenerated into physical confrontation.
It was then that the woman allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed her husband, Simon Ngugi, 33 in the chest, sending him sprawling on the floor.
Neighbours responding to distress calls found the victim bleeding profusely and rushed him to Kimbimbi Sub-County hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
"We have been thrown into mourning following the fatal attack of our brother and we demand to know why he was eliminated in such a cruel manner," said Gladys Njoki, the sister to the deceased.
The family said the couple lived peacefully and the fatal attack took them by surprise.
"When we heard what happened we were shocked because the couple lived well without quarrelling," said Ms Njoki.
The family called on the police to carry out thorough investigations to establish the truth of the matter and ensure that the suspect faces the full force of the law.
"We would like to know why the suspect decided to eliminate Ngugi, police should get into the bottom of the matter," said Mr John Mwigwi, his brother -in-law.
Mwea East Sub-County police boss Mr Stephen Okal said the matter was being treated as murder, adding that the suspect was being questioned.
"We are taking this matter seriously and according to preliminary investigations, the suspect will be charged with murder," he said.
