Detectives based in Dagoretti Saturday night arrested a woman found hosting 44 school children in a house in Nairobi’s Mountain View Estate and seized bhang and various brands of whisky and vodka.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) identified the woman as Millicent Kithinji, 41.

DCI further revealed that the teens found in Ms Kithinji’s house were 26 boys and 18 girls aged between 14 and 17 years and who are primary and secondary school learners.

Preliminary investigations by the DCI revealed the school children were from Nairobi, Kiambu and Machakos counties.

By Sunday morning, some of their parents had been contacted, the DCI said, adding that police are investigating how the children sneaked out of their homes and travelled all the way to Nairobi without raising suspicion from their parents.

Police are also seeking to establish why Ms Kithinji hosted the school children and how they got to her house.
