President Uhuru Kenyatta flags off Kenya Railways Diesel Multiple Units (DMU) at the Nairobi Central Railway Station on November 10, 2020 that will accelerate modernization of the Nairobi Commuter Rail Service.
The corporation said the service is being undertaken in conjunction with the Kenya Airports Authority.
Last week President Uhuru Kenyatta commissioned Diesel Multiple Units (DMU).
Kenya Railways, through the Nairobi Commuter Rail Service, on Thursday launched a new railway link from the city centre to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
Kenya Railways said in a statement that air travellers will from next week be able to avoid the traffic snarl-up along Mombasa road in an arrangement that will see passengers dropped at the Embakasi Railway Station from where a courtesy bus will pick them and ferry them to the airport.
