Muthaiga Club accuses KFS of invading its golf course

The Muthaiga Golf Club has accused a government agency of forcibly taking over a section of its land after claiming it falls within the boundaries of Karura Forest.
In an internal memo issued to members on Tuesday, the prestigious club says the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) has taken over part of its golf course.
"KFS is purporting that this section of the course falls within Karura Forest," club chairman Dennis Mwirigi said, adding that the board was "seized of the matter" and working to resolve the situation "as urgently as possible."
The contentious section is the "Front Nine, from Hole No. 2 through to Hole No. 9", the club said.
"Please note that the range and parking is not affected. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience, understanding and cooperation as the club works to resolve this matter," it told its members.
The club did not specify when the dispute over the course's boundaries began or when KFS moved onto the property.
