One dead, 40 fall ill after eating carcass of sick cow in Nakuru
Olenguruone Sub County Hospital in Kuresoi South, Nakuru County where 11 adults and 6 children are admitted after consuming uninspected meat from a dead cow on January 07, 2023. A seven year old child succumbed while receiving treatment at the facility.
17 patients, including a two-months old baby, are still receiving treatment.
A seven-year-old boy died after drinking soup made from the carcass of a sick cow even as 40 people who also ate the meat fell ill in Tirgoi village in Kuresoi South, Nakuru County.
The dead cow is suspected to have been infected with East Coast fever.
