Police officer shoots colleague in friendly fire

A police officer shot a colleague in Chuka, Tharaka-Nithi County while pursuing a suspect.

Chuka/Igambang'ombe OCPD Barasa Sayia on Friday said the officer was taken to Chuka County Referral Hospital.

Mr James Mutegi, an eyewitnesses, said the officer was shooting at the suspect but missed, hitting the colleague.

He said the suspect was also injured.
