Exclusive Prezzo: The truth about my health, love life and music

Buzz:Is there anything that we should worry about Prezzo?

Prezzo: Not really, my camp is intact and I am about to do big things. Musically, I want to promote my boy and brother Tahbeezy aka Tah-blaze. But as we speak, all is good.

 In the Cash Money Brothers, who is in and who is out?

My head security Oti, is officially a CMB member, then there is Tabir, who is about to do big things and my cousin Ray. I have also close associates in the industry like DJ Stylez, DJ Pinye, Alph of Homeboyz, whom apart from being a mentor musically, he has been a brother to me, among others.

Looking at your family, business and music, is there any pressure that you are going through right now?

Yes, media insensitivity. There are good journalists out there but a high number do not look at the consequences one gets after getting damaging publicity, especially where family is concerned. You can write anything about me, but how it affects my mother or brother and sister is what counts. Like recently, I was in ICU and media houses wrote all sorts of things, including drug overdose, without having any confirmation, it’s all wrong.

 Talking about that, tell me what happened?

It’s true I was in ICU, but only once, unlike what was reported that I had been taken back. The truth is, I have high blood pressure, had food poisoning that day, plus a lot of stress in my head. That is the real truth my brother.

 What kind of stress are we talking about here?

It happens to everyone, man. I have my music and fans to think about, business to do and a family to take care of. I always keep smiling as I sign autographs but that’s just the outside me. Deep inside me, I have lots of things going on.

What's your mother's reaction to all this?

She loves me, just like she has always done. Honestly, the last thing I’d want my mum to do is to worry about his son. I’d rather absorb everything and keep a smiling face.

When you were in hospital, what exactly was going through your mind?

I took time to reflect since I believe that everything happens with a reason. I’ve never been admitted to a hospital, and the first time it happens, I am taken straight to the ICU. I have started to appreciate my mother more, my aide de camp, the people who stood by me at the hospital bed and so on.

Did fellow musicians come to see you in hospital?

People came to see me but musicians didn’t. However, I don’t blame them because it happened very fast and I believe they prayed for me. I was shown love, especially from the love of my life Daisy, who was there with her family throughout. I know God will pay her one day.

When are you tying the knot with Daisy?

A journey of a thousand miles starts with one step. God has put us together for a reason. For the wedding, I can't give you the exact date, but we will announce it when we are ready. I respect her a lot.

What's the way forward for you right now Prezzo?

I have to change my company, in terms of the friends I've been hanging out with. I want to stay focused and appreciate a day I spend above the ground. Not many people go to the ICU and come out alive, I have realised that. I'm a better Prezzo, loving my mum, fiance' and my fans more.

 You've had friends who have betrayed you?

A lot of them man, they just laugh with you but stab you behind your back, and I will not associate myself with them any more.

You've had disagreements with fellow musicians in the past, whats the position now?

God works in mysterious ways man, I hard tough times with Redsan and Bamboo, but things are different now. I even had a collabo with Bamboo and don't be surprised if we release a song with Redsan. Forgive and forget, I have no time for beef right now.

What is it that makes you want to live an extra day?

The love of my life Daisy, my mother, my little sisters, my brothers like Tah-blaze and Oti, among others. They all make me happy.

Of all the celebrities in Kenya, you have the longest serving aide de camp, how have you managed that?

If you are talking about Oti (his chief security), he's no longer on that stage. Yes, he is my bodyguard, but I consider him as a brother. He is with me 24 hours a day, we have done so much for each other and God knows that. You will never get him in a club having a part time job.

After your collabo with Kaz, what next?

I'm releasing a collabo with AY, and also pushing Tah-blaze, who is very talented.

Is there anything you want to tell your fans?

Like I promised, Mafans wote bado nawapenda wooo, na kwa hii rap game sita walet down. I love everybody who loves or hates me. I'm fine and back 110 percent, and I thank God for everything. I'm now having a new mind frame. At the ICU, I saw people losing their lives and I pray for their families.
