Johnny Junior to perform during Wangwana Rhumba Live Show in Homa Bay
For rhumba fans in Homa Bay, musician Johnny Junior will on Sunday perform during a Rhumba special show dubbed “Wangwana Rhumba Live” to be held at the One Twelve Tavern, Homa Bay.
Johnny, backed by his BV Band is known for some of his popular songs like Amour Special, Mashabiki, Nyoremo and George Ogada. Entrance for the Sunday show will be Sh1,000 (advance), Sh2,000 (gate) and Sh10,000 (table for 6). The show starts at 2pm.
For the last one week, Johnny and his group have been on a festive season tour at various spots in Nyanza and Western Kenya.
Meanwhile, Benga musician Linet Aluoch Pamba backed by her Karapul Jazz Band is due to perform during the New Year’s Day dance on Wednesday at the Gono Konyuka Resort also in Homa Bay. Linet is also expected to perform on Tuesday alongside her fellow Benga musician Atis Pesa at the Nectar Club Manyatta in Kisumu.
In Eldoret, the Manyatta Homecoming show is due to be held today at the Tamasha Eldoret. Those expected to perform include Vijana Barubaru, Nadsia, MC Nick the Trend, DJ Roy Teeboy and Bensoul. The entrance fee for the show organised by Bakozi Est Africa is Sh1.000. A similar show was recently held in Nanyuki.
At the Diamond Plaza 2 in Nairobi lined up on Tuesday (New Year’s Eve) will be the Live Concert with Salaah Sanaag. It will be a night of Somali music, arts and laughter. Entrance is Sh2,000 (advance). The show starts at 9pm.
For those planning to usher in the New Year in Mombasa the Safari Beach Hotel at Diani in Kwale County will on Tuesday host a New Year’s Eve bash dubbed Beach Vibes Meet Old Skool. The show starts at 10pm, Entrance is Sh2,000 (advance), Sh2,500 (regular), Sh3,000 (gate).
In Eldoret, the Langata-based Maroon Commandos Band will on Tuesday perform during a New Year’s Eve show at The Grand Rocks Hotel. The group under the leadership of Juvenalis Otukia, features others like Samuel Kirwa, Werrason Muzina, Josphat Shikali, David Amunga, Caroline Atieno and Lynder Matiko “Queen of Rhumba music”.
Known for the evergreen Charonyi ni wasi alongside others the Maroon band has for the last week been on a performance tour of Western Kenya.
In Nanyuki, the Bilenge Musica International Band led by Lesasa Joker will on Tuesday perform during a New Year's Eve show at The Warwick Hotel.
The entrance for the show to be held at the poolside will be Sh1,000. The show starts at 3pm.
For Rhumba fans in Busia town, DJ Marto Sibuor will perform tonight at the Midways Tavern Busia. The Sibuor Live show is set to start at 6pm.
Elsewhere The Deliverance Church at Ruaraka in Nairobi will on Tuesday host the Crossover Kesha Night from 9pm.
