Kisumu set for Benga music extravaganza
Kisumu-based benga musician Linet Aluoch Pamba.
Popular Kisumu- based Benga musician Linet Aluoch Pamba and her Karapul Jazz Band will today be the highlight during a Benga extravaganza to be held at the Dunga Hill Camp in Kisumu.
The group is known for some of their songs like Albert Ojonyo, Rao 001, RIP Nyakisa, Akello Misori, Baba Ziro and Bad Manners. The show will start at 3pm. Entrance is free.

Elsewhere in Nairobi, ohangla musician Emma Jalamo will perform today during an ohangla special show at the Vibanda Village in Upper Hill area. Entrance is Sh500 (regular) and Sh1,000 (VIP). Tomorrow, Jalamo will perform at the Headquarters Villas on Kangundo Road in the outskirts of Nairobi. Entrance will be Sh500.
Mzee Joseph Ngala.
For fans of bango music at the coast, veteran Mzee Ngala Mwenyewe and his Bango Sounds perform every Wednesday at the Club Legend Kitoko 2.0 in Mtwapa, Kilifi County. Mzee Ngala, considered one of the main proponents of bango music, is known for some of his great Bango songs like Teusi, Naitaka Bango, Mgeni Wangu, Mama Emmy and Kadzo wa Malindi. His son, Jimmy Ngala, is also a bango musician backed by the Asili Band. Meanwhile, the Club Legend Kitoko 2.0 hosts Rhumba Mature Night every Saturday with Ricky Mulolo and the Idologia Musica band. Shows start at 7pm.
Also, in Mombasa, the Amitie Musica Band led by Crispen Tambwe performs every Sunday at Pirates Beach Park. Shows start at 2pm until late. Meanwhile, every Saturday the same group performs at the New Jambo Greenland Restaurant (next to Bamburi Beach Hotel). Shows start at 6pm.
In another development, the Parklands Sports Club in Nairobi will, on October 4, host the Tennis and Socialize event. The Tennis and Socialise event, hosted by the Growth Social Club, is a lively weekend gathering designed for both non-sports sport enthusiasts.
For rhumba fans in Nairobi, the Emara Ole Sereni Hotel will, on October 3, be the venue of the First VIP Rhumba Affair to feature performances by Lesasa Joker (Bilenge Musica International) and Zeget Delongeur “Master Voice”. Also to entertain the revelers will be DJ Sheriff, MC Pengle and Papa Jean Baptiste.

In Umoja 2 in Nairobi, popular Afro-fusion musician Prince Indah will perform today at the Jiweke Tavern Umoja 2 in Nairobi. He is expected to entertain his fans in Eastlands with some of his popular songs like Rapudo, Ngima Dhano and Mimi na Wewe. Today’’s show will be hosted by MC Ogina Koko and MC Jendeke Mfalme.
Meanwhile, in Kisumu, there will be the Fisherman’s Dala Experience show on October 3, featuring a special performance by Prince Indah at the Kisumu Mamboleo Showground. Others expected to perform will be Iddi Achieng, Coster Ojwang, The Fishers Band, Okello Max, Gype Ballo, Leeroy Odhiambo, Joboya Band, Nikita Kering, and Mtu Necessary. Entrance is Sh1,500 (regular), Sh5,000 (VIP), Sh10,000 (VVIP) and Sh25,000 ( Jalupo Exclusive).
