Police later claimed to have the situation under control, although spokesman Kassim Ahmed Roble said Saturday that fighting had gone on all night.

The death toll in a gun and bomb attack by Somalia’s Al-Qaeda-affiliated Al-Shabaab militants on a Mogadishu hotel used by the country’s leaders has risen to 14, police said on Saturday.
