A senior US senator has warned Ugandan General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who is also the son of President Yoweri Museveni, had crossed a red line which would negatively affect diplomatic ties between the two countries.

The Republican chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Jim Risch, said General Muhoozi did not follow diplomatic protocol to apologise to the US over human rights violations during Uganda's disputed 2026 General Election.
