Kenyan murdered by ex-lover in Minnesota, US, identified

The victim was identified as Hulda Bochere Mosiori, a 42-year-old mother of four.
A Kenyan who was shot dead by her former lover in the US, where she was living and working, has been identified.
The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office in Minnesota identified the woman shot on the morning of Tuesday, April 22, 2025, as Hulda Bochere Mosiori, a 42-year-old mother of four.
Police believe she was killed by Mel Melchizedek, 51, believed to be the father of at least one of her children, before he turned the gun on himself.
“This incident remains under investigation by the Ramsey Police Department, Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office, and Anoka County Sheriff’s Office. No further information will be released at this time,” a statement from the police said.
According to the initial statement from the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, the incident began when a man allegedly confronted a neighbour Tuesday morning with a gun before returning to his home.
When law enforcement later gained entry into the home, they discovered the bodies of Mosiori and Melchizedek, both dead from gunshot wounds.
Authorities are yet to establish the reason behind the murder suicide.
Before her death, Mosiori worked as a mental health nurse practitioner and an entrepreneur.
