The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Renson Ingonga has directed the Inspector-General of Police to fast-track investigations into the killing of lawyer Kyalo Mbobu and hand over the file within seven days.

Mbobu was fatally shot eight times on Tuesday along Magadi Road in Karen, Nairobi.

In a press statement, the DPP instructed the IG Douglas Kanja to take all necessary steps to ensure the investigation is completed with the utmost speed and accuracy.

“The ODPP echoes the DCI’s appeal for members of the public with any information relevant to this case to come forward and share it with law enforcement agencies without delay,” the statement read.

Responding to growing public concern over the murder, the DPP’s office underscored the importance of promptly identifying and preserving all critical evidence that could assist in solving the case.

“The DPP has called for an expedited investigation to ensure all critical evidence is identified, collected, and preserved in strict accordance with the law,” Mr Ingonga said.
