The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has effected transfers of senior field officers across the country as the commission prepares for the appointment of a new chief executive officer in July.
Some of the senior officers have retired while others have been promoted, including regional, county and sub-county directors. Their deployment letters will be dispatched this week.
Nakuru County director Joseph Japhat Kariuki is the new TSC regional director in charge of the Nyanza region and will replace Jane Gatakaa Njage who has been appointed as TSC nominee to the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).
Mr Kariuki will be replaced by Geofrey Matasero Chemos who has been serving in the same position in Uasin Gishu County.
The commission CEO Nancy Macharia is set to retire on June 30, 2025, upon expiry of her second five-year term at the helm.
It is expected that her position will be advertised before then to pave the way for recruitment of her replacement.
Mr Francis Saina Keter, the county director of Busia County, has been transferred to Uasin Gishu County and the county director of Baringo Jackson Ong’eto Atuti will replace him.
Ms Mirriam Jebet Kosgei, who has been serving as the deputy county director of Trans-Nzoia County, has been promoted and deployed to head Baringo County.
Also promoted is Mark Muma Arbelle who assumes office as the new Isiolo County director. He will replace Jayne Wambui Mwaniki who has retired.
Nakuru East sub-County director Catherine Kamawira Lenairoshi has also been promoted and deployed as the director of Kirinyaga County.
Ms Regina Opondo, the county director of Nandi, has been transferred in the same capacity to Meru County to replace Ms Mary Salome Ombisi who moves in the opposite direction.
These include Ms Catherine Nyaguthii Mathenge (Dagoretti Sub-county) who moves to Nakuru East Sub-county.
Dr Patrick Mutua has been transferred from Kinango Sub-county, Kwale County to Mvita Sub-county in Mombasa County.
Ahmed Yussuf Ali, the Wajir East Sub-county director, has been transferred to Turkana sub-County while Matuga sub-County Mohamed Aden Issack will now go to Wajir East sub-County.
Kibwezi Sub-county director Gertrude Chao Maganga is the new boss of Matuga sub-County while Mr Vincent Victor Nyonyesa Mamai moves from Lunga Lunga sub-County in Kwale County to Saboti Sub-county in Trans-Nzoia County.
Mr Maurice Abungu George Ochieng has been transferred from Kisumu Central Sub-county to the Staffing Directorate at the headquarters in Nairobi.
His replacement is Solomon BMr uyela Wafubwa who has been transferred from Turkana Central Sub-county.
