Gachagua to Trump: Arrest beneficiaries of Minnesota fraud in Kenya Venezuela-style
Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua.
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has called on Donald Trump to fast-track his administration's investigation into fraud and money laundering in Minnesota, while also calling for a Venezuela-style operation in Kenya.
Speaking Sunday during a church service in Githunguri, Kiambu County, he alleged that some of the looted funds were used to fund 2022 political campaigns in Kenya. However, he did not share any proof of his allegations.
He then urged the US President to adopt the same strategy he used to apprehend Venezuela's Head of State in dealing with those found culpable of money laundering.
Separately, he dismissed recent opinion polls that indicated ruling party United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is the most popular in the country.
"These are fake opinion polls generated on computers....ignore them," he said.
He then termed the government's new war against drug and alcohol abuse as ironic, while accusing President William Ruto's administration of sabotaging a similar fight he led when he was Deputy President.
