Covid-19 cases in Kenya rise to 94,614 as five more die of virus

Covid-19 infections in Kenya have risen by 114 over the past 24 hours, bringing the country’s cumulative caseload to 94,614.

In a press release on Monday afternoon, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe announced that the new cases were from a sample size of 2,507.

Over the same period, 325 patients recovered from the disease, raising total recoveries to 76,060. Mr Kagwe said that 256 of the recovered cases were in home-based care while 69 were discharged from various hospitals.

At the same time, the CS announced that five more patients succumbed to the virus, raising Kenya’s Covid-19 death toll to 1,644.
