Kenya records 271 news Covid-19 cases, 51 recoveries

Kenya’s Covid-19 caseload has risen to 40,178 after 271 news cases were recorded over the past 24 hours from 5,034 samples which were tested.
Of these new cases, 242 are Kenyans while 29 are foreigners.
Making the announcement Thursday afternoon at Trans Nzoia County Referral Hospital in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County, Health CAS Rashid Aman said that 51 more patients have recovered from the disease.
He said 29 were discharged from various hospitals and 22 from the home-based care programme. This has raised the total Covid-19 recoveries in Kenya to 31,710.
At the same time, the death toll from the disease has risen to 751 following the deaths of three more patients.
Dr Aman urged Kenyans not to lower their guard in the fight against Covid-19. He particularly urged people to avoid social and political gatherings, adding that leaders need to set the right example.
