Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and his Gatundu North counterpart Elijah Kururia, have been drawn into a long-running family feud over land in Runda.
Mr Daniel Mwangi Mbugua and his daughter, Wanjiru Mwangi, have asked the High Court in Kiambu to order for an Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission investigation into Mr Murkomen, Mr Sudi and Mr Kururia over the alleged grabbing of the 300-acre Kasarini Coffee Farm on which the Paradise Lost recreational centre is situated.
The prime property, under LR numbers 5974/1, 5972 and 5971, is estimated in court papers to be worth at least Sh20 billion.
Mr Mbugua, Mr Issac Gichia Mbugua and Mr Joseph Mbai Mbugua are the sons of reclusive Kiambu billionaire Mbugua Mwangi and Christine Mithiri. The businessman died in 2008, and his wife died thereafter.
Mwangi traded through Ndunde Investments, and his investment portfolio included Misahara Coffee Estate and Kasarini Coffee Farm in Kiambu. The tycoon also owned Suguror Ranch in Laikipia County and had other prime properties in Kangemi, Runda, Ruiru and Karen.
Mr Mbugua and Ms Mwangi want Mr Murkomen, Mr Sudi and Mr Kururia arrested for protecting more than 200 individuals who have invaded the land and taken possession.
They also claim that part of the land has been transferred to a company named Pamat Enterprises Limited. The two further allege that Kiambu Police Station, under its commanding officer, has been compromised, and that the three politicians have previously held a meeting to plot how to disinherit the family.

Mr Sudi and Mr Murkomen had not responded to calls and text messages sent to their known mobile phone numbers by the time of publication.
Mr Kururia, in a phone interview, said that he is aware of the matter and came to know about it when he was the Land committee chairperson in Kiambu County while serving as the Biashara Ward Representative.
He said Kasarini Coffee Farm workers were allocated land by the government in the early 1980s, and so was Pamat Enterprises. He explained that the firm has been helping the squatters to get title deeds and asking them to withdraw petitions against the company.
“After 1984, there was a resurveying of the land. These people (petitioners), out of ignorance, don’t know the exact numbers of the land they claim is theirs, and they are lying people who have invaded Paradise Lost. Nobody has invaded Paradise Lost . Actually, it is they who have encroached on community land. What Paradise Lost feuding brothers own is LR 5970 and 5969,’’ Mr Kururia said.
Yesterday, the High Court in Kiambu directed the two petitioners to serve the other parties and appear for a mention on May 19 for further directions.

“That this court gives an order to the Internal Affairs Director and Inspector-General of Police to explain why the very same persons encroaching and participating in the unlawful and illegal activities are well acquainted with the police and those mentioned in prayer 9 & prayer 11 and have been actively seen in the hallways of Kiambu Police Station and the OCS & OCPD should produce such persons to this very court to explain their relationship,” Mr Mbugua and Ms Mwangi say in documents filed at the Kiambu Law Courts on Monday.
The petitioners state that the alleged land grabbers, backed by powerful government officials offering security, have already secured title deeds.
The presence of security officers manning the contested land, Mr Mbugua and Ms Mwangi add, is evidence that the alleged grabbers are not ordinary citizens.
They further want the court to issue an order to the Director of Criminal Investigations and the OCS and OCPD of Kiambu Police Station to produce the titles “allegedly presented to them for authentication by trespassers, invaders, land grabbers and violence perpetrators for verification and authentication” and to explain how the police determined the authenticity of the documents.
The petitioners also told the court that there is an imminent plot to murder them. They cite an incident on April 13 when Ms Mwangi was almost attacked by the goons who had taken control of the land. Ms Mwangi also claims that Mr Murkomen has been spotted on the contested land with armed individuals.

“That on Saturday 11th April 2026, I received a phone call and was told that Cabinet Secretary of Interior Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen was patrolling with a team of six vehicles and a truck with 20 armed goons, wielding machetes and other crude weapons and bad attitudes,’’ Ms Mwangi states in the petition.
She adds that police have illegally occupied the family land without any court order, and they have been unresponsive despite the family recording statements.
Mr Mbugua has listed his brothers, Mr Gichia and Mr Mbai, as interested parties to the suit. He accuses his brothers of working with the alleged land grabbers to disinherit him and his daughter.
He and his two brothers have been fighting in court over the control of the multi-billion-shilling properties left by their parents. In the case filed at Milimani Law Courts, he claimed that he had been sidelined from accessing the proceeds of his father’s estate through Ndunde Investments, which was registered in 1986.
But in a recent interview, Mr Gichia claimed that he is also a victim of the alleged land grab, maintaining that he was shocked to learn that Pamat Enterprises had already secured title deeds for the land.

Business Registration Service records seen by the Nation show that Pamat Enterprises was incorporated in 1984 and operates from Lavington in Nairobi County. Its directors and shareholders are Philip Mulwa Nzioka, Isaya Begi Gesicho, Black Scorpion International Services Limited, ICPHER Consultants Co Ltd and Dawn Innovations.
A Pamat Enterprises Ltd official promised to call back and answer questions posed to the firm, but had not done so by the time of going to press.
