MC Jessy drops bid for South Imenti MP seat after Ruto meeting
Comedian MC Jessy (real name Jasper Muthomi) has dropped his bid for the South Imenti parliamentary seat, Deputy President William Ruto has announced.
The DP said Mr Muthomi, popular as MC Jessy on the Churchill Show, will instead join his presidential campaign team.
The DP said the comedian will now back Mwiti Kathaara for the South Imenti Seat.
Both were set to square things away for the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket.
MC Jessy joined UDA in February after a successful career on the entertainment scene spanning over a decade whose highlight was the rib-cracking jokes on the Churchill Show comedy series.
"The groundwork that has been done has landed on the side of winning team," he said at the time.
The comedian is yet to comment on the move even as Kenyans shared their thoughts on social media but he was photographed with the DP.
The tweet announcing the move was later deleted from the DP's Twitter timeline.
