Raila DP slot: Gideon Moi skips Azimio panel interview
Kanu Chairman Gideon Moi did not appear before the Azimio Deputy Presidential selection panel on Monday.
In a statement on Monday, Mr Moi's press secretary Joseph Towett said the Baringo Senator will back Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
"Hon Moi is grateful to the committee of eminent persons for the consideration for the running mate position," said Mr Towett.
The interviews kicked off at the Serena Hotel in Nairobi on Monday and ends tomorrow.
Already Murang'a Woman Rep Sabina Chege, Governors Hassan Joho, Wycliffe Oparanya and Lee Kinyanjui as well as Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua have been interviewed by the selection panel chaired by former Cabinet Minister Dr Noah Wekesa.
Speaking after the interview, Ms Chege expressed optimism that the panel will settle on her as Mr Odinga's running mate.
"To me it was a conversation not even an interview and I'm happy to be the first candidate to appear before the panel," Ms Chege said.
She lauded the Jubilee Party for recognising her efforts and submitting her name to the panel for consideration.
"I also thank the panel for shortlisting me among the 11 candidates," she said.
