The private escapade reportedly took an unexpected turn when the MP found himself in distress after allegedly overdosing on a popular drug while waiting for his guest to arrive. His female companion reportedly delayed, which allowed the drugs to take effect. The MP reportedly became unresponsive, triggering panic among his aides, who rushed him to a nearby high-end hospital for emergency treatment. He was stabilised.

A top CS appears to have fallen out with the powers that be. An aide told Talk of the Town that the man's recent big-money deals and major decisions made without consultation were considered a step too far. Just in case he had any doubt about retribution, the man who runs a powerful department has, in recent weeks, found it hard to arrange appointments with a powerful individual whom he could previously see at short notice. Requests that were easily granted are also being ignored these days. The CS is so worried that he has sent emissaries to apologise on his behalf, fearing that he could be moved to a less powerful role should there be a reshuffle.
Plot to isolate the top opposition leader.
A senior opposition leader is on the verge of being isolated by his colleagues as they continue to prepare for the next elections. According to the plan, if one of the ODM factions agrees to work with them, they will not need the leader, whom they claim is unpopular with Kenyans and could spell doom for the opposition in their attempt to unseat President Ruto. It is also understood that this is one of the conditions that the ODM rival factions have given, stating that the targeted leader is not popular with the majority of their supporters and should therefore be excluded from the 2027 equation. Only time will tell if the plan will succeed.
Senior official harassing women
A senior communications official in a government ministry has become a nuisance by making unwanted sexual advances towards professional women travelling as part of delegations on foreign trips. Sources say that, on a recent high-profile visit, he made inappropriate late-night phone calls to a number of women while drunk, demanding to join them in their hotel rooms. Unbeknownst to him, the women had already shared their frustrations with one another, and none of them gave in to his demands. When he realised he had been exposed and could be reported, the official reportedly offered profuse apologies to each woman the following day.
Broke CS begging for pocket money?
Still on the subject of Cabinet Secretaries, just how hollow are some ministries? Well, a Cabinet Secretary reportedly sent his Personal Assistant to one of the more powerful ministries to get 'something' for his pocket money. The CS is said to have run out of cash and had nothing to give to visitors to his office. He then decided to send his PA to one of the more affluent ministries to get him some money. True to his word, his colleague did not disappoint, giving the PA Sh1 million in cash to take to his boss.
Parastatal chief avoids outshining 'big man'
The managing director of a powerful parastatal organisation is said to be avoiding appearing before MPs alongside his boss, for fear of appearing more knowledgeable than him. According to the parastatal chief, the CS is normally exposed whenever MPs ask supplementary questions for which the technical team had not prepared answers. The Managing Director says that it is at this point that the CS gets exposed, as he does not have the technical answers that the lawmakers are looking for, yet he still insists on answering the questions. He fears that, if he steps in to help, he will explain issues so well to the satisfaction of the MPs that he will outshine his boss.
