Tanzania’s President Suluhu drops ministers in cabinet reshuffle

Dar es Salaam

President Samia Suluhu Hassan has on Saturday January 8, made a mini cabinet reshuffle that has seen her drop some ministers and bring in new faces.

Announcing the changes at State House in Dar es Salaam, the Chief Secretary, Ambassador Hussein Kattanga said the President has made structural changes in three ministries.

President Suluhu has made the changes in fulfilment of her promise to make changes to the cabinet, he added.

On Tuesday, January 4, 2022, President Suluhu, hinted at a plan to reshuffle her cabinet.

The new cabinet sees former CCM Publicity Secretary Nape Nauye bounce back to the cabinet in the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Arts whereas Ridhiwan Kikwete gets the nod as Deputy Minister of Land, Housing and Human Settlements.

Hussein Bashe now becomes Minister of Agriculture with Anthony Mavunde as his deputy.
