Gor, Tusker clash as champs Police face Mathare

What you need to know:

  • On Friday, defending champions, Kenya Police FC will host Mathare United at Police Sacco Stadium in Nairobi.
  • On Sunday, AFC Leopards will be expecting several key players to return as they take on Kariobangi Sharks at Kasarani.

Leaders Gor Mahia will welcome Tusker FC to Kasarani Stadium in a high stakes Football Kenya Federation Premier League on Saturday.

Gor will be looking to stay top of the league table while Tusker, who are currently fifth, will be hoping to inch closer to the top.

On Friday, defending champions, Kenya Police FC, will host Mathare United in one of the eight league matches lined up this weekend. The match will be played at Police Sacco Stadium in Nairobi.

Police will be hoping to capitalise on their superior head-to-head record against their rivals, as well as their home advantage, to secure their fourth victory of the season.

Return of key players

However, Mathare’s strong defensive organisation is expected to present a challenge to Police. The Slum Boys are also renowned for their lightning-fast counterattacks.

In other matches of the day, Bidco United will play Bandari FC at the SportPesa Arena in Murang’a County and Mara Sugar will play KCB at the Green Stadium in Awendo.

On Sunday, AFC Leopards will be expecting the return of Victor Omune, Samuel Ambale, Elias Mugane and utility player Kayci Odhiambo as they take on Kariobangi Sharks at Kasarani.
