  • On December 12, 2024, during Jamhuri Day celebrations, Munro was honoured with the Elder of the Order of the Burning Spear (EBS) by President William Ruto at State House, Nairobi, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to sports and community development in Kenya.

The football community in Kenya has been plunged into mourning following the passing of Mathare United founder and long-serving football administrator Bob Munro.

According to his wife, Ingrid Munro, he died on Sunday at his home in Westlands, Nairobi.
