On April 27, the Netherlands celebrates its national day: King’s Day. On this day, we celebrate the birthday of King Willem-Alexander, but the meaning of the day is about much more: we celebrate national unity, social cohesion and the togetherness in our society. My country transforms into a sea of orange, our national colour.
Just over a month ago, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima came to Kenya for a State visit. In a span of three days, they connected with Kenyans and visited a wide range of Kenyan-Dutch initiatives and collaborations in the areas of politics and security, economy, climate and democracy.
