Housing • Lands and Housing Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome should publish quarterly reports in the media on the affordable housing programme’s projects right across the country, covering all the key issues, says Githuku Mungai. “The CS ought to know that Kenyans will want to be informed about every key detail on this project funded by the housing levy.” His email address is [email protected].

Education • While welcoming the government’s reduction of university fees to mollify the GenZs, Dr Kennedy Miyoro Mochabo wonders if this is not a way to kill private institutions. “The private universities have been doing very well as the public ones grapple with huge debts. But I hope this will also apply to the certificate and diploma students in the tertiary colleges!” His contact is [email protected].

Legislation • Alcohol regulator Nacada, Joseph Macharia says, seems to have “just woken up from a drunken slumber with unrealistic and illogical proposals”. The agency, he adds, “should be given teeth to enforce existing laws, especially on bootleg liquor or be disbanded”. But he’s worried about powerful alcohol industry players. “We’re damned!” His contact is [email protected].

Diplomacy • The UK and Canada have recognised Palestine, notes Alnashir D. Walji. “Palestinians' right to self-determination must be respected as part of the solution to the Middle East crisis. A staggering 60,000 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza turmoil with Israel accused of committing genocide. When will the mayhem in the biblical holy land end?” His contact is [email protected].

Inspiration • President William Ruto’s Sh600 million bonus pledge to the national soccer team, Harambee Stars, for winning the African Nations Championship (Chan) being jointly hosted with Tanzania and Uganda, is a huge inspiration, says Jim Webo. “Players should showcase talents without being overwhelmed by the mouth-watering offer. Let them set their eyes further afield on joining top European teams.”

Have a thrilling day, won’t you!
