Mongrel governance • With several “Cabinet reshuffles in under three years, President William Ruto’s leadership is a classic example of mongrel governance”, says Taabu Tele. “He must now nurture and exploit his robust politicking for service delivery instead of blaming his tools like a failed farmer and herding Kenyans into their respective 2027 ethnic election cocoons.” His contact is taabu.tele@mail.com.

Cruel officials • What kind of government forces hungry people to first register for health insurance before being issued with relief food? asks Evans Macharia Mwangi. “It’s sad for government officials in Turkana County to deny people food for not enlisting with the Social Health Insurance Fund. Those doing so have no business in being in government.” His contact is evans_macharia@yahoo.com.

Low standards • The construction of the road from Westlands to the Mombasa Road junction in Nairobi, Charlie Jowi is convinced, “doesn’t meet the high standards required for a capital city”. Says he: “How come KeNHA bosses and the Roads CS or PS hardly inspect such projects and explain to taxpayers how their monies are being used? Kigali and Lusaka roads will shame ours.” (Cjowi@yahoo.com)

Stalled project • Since the beginning of the year, a low-cost housing project in the middle of Thika town opposite the stadium has been at a standstill, notes Bimal Shah. “Our leaders don’t seem concerned whilst hundreds of employees working on the site are now jobless. I just hope our housing levy contributions have not gone into this private project.” His contact is bimal@broadway.co.ke.

Drugs shame • The increasing arrests of Kenyans trafficking narcotics abroad are worrying, says Tonny Kyule. “After one was sentenced to death in Vietnam, another was arrested in India while also smuggling cocaine. She had reportedly been promised Sh100,000 for delivering the package. Kenyans shouldn’t travel abroad to shame the country!” His contact is tonykyle006@gmail.com.

Have an impeccable day, won’t you!
