Kenya Good Neighbors celebrates 30 years of hope, impact and shared humanity

The climax of Kenya Good Neighbors’ 30th anniversary celebrations: Leaders, partners, and children cut a commemorative cake.
On December 11, 2025, Kenya Good Neighbors (KGN), an international non-governmental organisation, hosted a 30th anniversary Gala Dinner in Nairobi to commemorate its three decades of compassion, impact and hope for a brighter future. The elegant evening brought together government representatives, donors, development partners, community stakeholders, alumni beneficiaries, suppliers, contractors, consultants, sponsored children, Kenya Good Neighbors staff and friends of the organisation.
Speeches were delivered by KGN Board Treasurer, KGN Country Director, Good Neighbors International Representative, Public Benefit Organisations Regulatory Authority (PBORA) Director General, KOICA Country Director, North Horr Member of Parliament and Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Kenya. The speeches highlighted the history of the organisation, its achievements and impact over the past 30 years, and the donors’ and government stakeholders’ acknowledgement and congratulations.
The celebration was graced by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Kenya, Kang Hyung-shik, who served as the Chief Guest. The Ambassador underscored the deep and enduring partnership between Kenya and South Korea, South Korea development projects to Kenya, and the rapid economic development of Kenya. The Ambassador also commended Kenya Good Neighbors as a long-term trustworthy partner and implementer.

Success storytelling by previous beneficiaries, and vote of thanks by community stakeholders and parents’ representative of presently sponsored children, testified to Kenya Good Neighbors’ impact in the Kenya communities.
Dances, poems, and playgroup skit performances by learners from sponsored schools, live performances from Eko Dydda and guest group dance, added warmth and great excitement to the celebration.
The successful celebration was a moment of reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment, honouring the past while boldly looking to the future. KGN guests and stakeholders felt much appreciated by this inspiring and informative event.
