KPA clears traders to choose how to ferry cargo from Mombasa Port
The fate of dozens of Kenya Ports Authority employees affected by a new human resource policy hangs in the balance after the Public Service Commission termed it unconstitutional and illegal.
Traders are now free to clear their cargo in Mombasa and use any mode of transport to ferry their cargo from port of Mombasa to Nairobi and other hinterlands.
This is after Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) issued a notice quashing the 2018 ban on nomination of cargo in Mombasa and compulsory ferrying of cargo via Standard Gauge Railway (SGR).
