Goons disrupted a United Opposition political meeting on Saturday at Umau Stadium in Embu County.
The meeting, which attracted residents from Mbeere North and Mbeere South constituencies, had been convened by Devolution Empowerment Party (DEP) leader Lenny Kivuti and his Democratic Party (DP) counterpart, Justin Muturi.

Tension mounted in the area for much of the afternoon as the goons engaged opposition supporters in a physical confrontation.
Trouble started when the stone-throwing goons stormed the stadium, causing a stampede.
However, opposition supporters repulsed them and chased them away.
Moments later, the meeting resumed, with opposition leaders condemning the incident. Several people were reported to have sustained minor injuries.
Mr Kivuti and Mr Muturi accused their political rivals in the area, who are allied to the Kenya Kwanza government, of being responsible for disrupting the meeting.
"We can't be scared by a handful of criminals. We have thousands of supporters who have managed to drive the goons away," said Mr Kivuti.
Mr Kivuti stressed that he loved all Embu people and urged those being used to cause chaos at United Opposition meetings to behave.
Mr Muturi said no amount of intimidation would deter the United Opposition from holding political meetings in the area.
"We are not cowards and our rivals from the government should well know that," said Mr Muturi.
During the meeting, the Ngome elders tasked Mr Kivuti and Mr Muturi with uniting all Mbeere people to vote as a bloc for United Opposition leaders seeking various political seats in the region.
Further, the elders endorsed Mr Kivuti to vie for the Embu gubernatorial seat and Mr Muturi to seek a national seat should the United Opposition win the 2027 General Election.
Earlier, Mr Muturi had asked United Opposition leaders to respect one another in order to defeat President William Ruto.
"There is no party which is superior to the other; therefore, let us respect each other and work together if we want to take over the government," said Mr Muturi.
Mr Muturi lashed out at Dr Ruto, accusing him of running down the economy.
"Ruto has messed up our country and we must ensure that he goes home in 2027," said Mr Muturi.
Mr Kivuti and Mr Muturi, who were crowned by the elders as spokesmen of the Mbeere communities, said they were not political enemies.
They resolved to ensure that the Mbeere people were not divided along clan lines.
