When confronted, the police officer attempted to persuade the couple to resolve the matter without involving other people.
The police report further indicates that the officer gave the girl’s mother Sh20,000 and asked her not to disclose the matter.
A senior police officer in Kakamega County is in custody after he was allegedly accused of using a fake security alert to lure the parents of a 16-year-old girl away from their home before returning and allegedly defiling the teenager.
The officer was on Monday being held at Kakamega Police Station and was expected to appear in court to face charges.
