Bhang worth Sh400,000 seized, owner arrested in Nyali

Police in Mombasa County Sunday seized 1,943 rolls of bhang with a street value of Sh400,000.

A police brief seen by the Nation states that the rolls of bhang had been packed in five “Nigerian” bags.
“The suspect was supplying bhang using a vehicle registration number KCY 681 M. She has been booked at Kadzandani Police Station,” it says.
She will be arraigned on Monday to answer charges of drugs trafficking.
Escape
Police sources told the Nation that the driver of the vehicle, a silver Toyota Ractis, managed to escape.
“The vehicle is from Migori where the bhang is believed to have originated from. The driver was lucky to escape,” said a police source privy to the operation.
Another police source said the bhang was seized immediately after it was delivered and that a search for the driver and the vehicle was launched.
