The driver of Kibra MP Mwalimu Peter Orero has been charged with dangerous driving, coming days after he was filmed overlapping on a city road.
George Oduor pleaded guilty to a charge of dangerous driving after he was charged with endangering lives of other road users before Milimani senior Principal Magistrate Rose Ndombi. He admitted that on October 9, 2025 at 2.40pm along Oloitoktok Road, Nairobi, he drove a vehicle dangerously by overtaking against the flow of traffic.
He faced a count of dangerous driving and overtaking on the wrong side of the road contrary to rule 73 (4) as read with rule 99 of the traffic rules chapter 403 Laws of Kenya.
The magistrate was told by a prosecuting counsel that he used demeaning language when he was asked why he was driving so carelessly and dangerously.
The driver is accused of insulting journalist Larry Madowo using unprintable words, asking him to go and report to Kenya's president.
Prosecuting Counsel noted that a video of the encounter has since gone viral.
However, the MP's driver urged the court to exercise leniency while passing a sentence.
