Judge tells Nakuru County to sue lawyer over Sh17m 'fraud'
The Nakuru judge has on June 18, 2019 directed Lee Kinyanjui administration to take legal action against a lawyer who allegedly forged a county attorney signature to avoid paying client Sh17 million issued by the court.
Sabatia Investment was awarded Sh39.8 million for rent arrears owed by the county government.
Nakuru County government paid the full amount through Sabatia Investment lawyer's account but he only paid his clients Sh22 million.
The lawyer is then said to have forged the signature of a Nakuru County's attorney and obtained orders stopping payment of the remaining balance.
But Sabatia Investment contested the order and that is when the court was informed the signature used to secure order was forged.
The High Court has directed Lee Kinyanjui administration to take legal action against a lawyer who allegedly forged the signature of a Nakuru County attorney in a bid to defraud his client Sh17 million.
Nakuru High Court judge Joel Ngugi on Tuesday ordered the county to report the alleged forgery by lawyer Harry Gakinya to the police.
