In 2024, the production figure was 17,000,000, of which about 65 per cent were Chinese. That’s already about six times Kenya’s total vehicle population, but even at that rate, it would take about 70 years to replace the existing global fleet of vehicles powered by fossil fuels. Production levels might, of course, increase...perhaps exponentially.
