Presentation of award-winning school film in Kitui

A special trophy presentation is set for next Tuesday at the Kyambogo Senior School in Kitui County for the best overall winning feature film and screen verse during the recent Kenya National Drama and Film Festival.
The film directed by Doris Rwito and produced by John Samuel Mile was among the highlights during the festival that was held at the Kagumo Teachers College in Nyeri. Notably, the feature film titled The Blueprint, is a thought-provoking film on parental expectations and self-discovery. After the trophy presentation to the Kyamboo Senior School principal, John Samuel Mile, the school has organized public viewing of the film during the first week following the reopening of schools.
They were awarded the best overall Senior school trophy in film for topping in both the feature film and screen verse. According to director Doris Rwito, they won best male student actor- Ray (played by Mathew Steven) best producer, best director, best cinematography, best set design among others. .
Elsewhere the PCEA Njiru parish festivals will be held on May 3 at the PCEA Njiru Church. Event starts at 9am. The theme is based on . Isaiah 43:19 See I am doing a new thing..
There will be set- piece, traditional song, drama, singing game, memory verse, poem , drama and The Jesus Dance for the youth. According to Rev Shem Githinji, the event aims to spread the gospel using theatre and Performing Arts. Charis Eagle Springs will award best actors, actresses in the category of the older persons .

New group Veterans X - Comm band formed

A new group featuring retired and former members of various forces dance bands, dubbed the Veterans X- Comm (VX-CB) was recently formed. The group led by Johnnie Magneto was due to stage its debut show last night at a club in Nairobi’s Langata area.
According to Magneto, others in the group include veteran guitarist Tuesday Oguru , singers Juvenlas Otukia, Sharon Roby and Javina Wendy. Others are Ken Okoth (saxophone) and Tom Omwaga (drums) ‘” Our aspiration is to keep alive the golden music legacy. We look forward to playing the best of rhumba music. alongside Swahili and other popular oldies ,“ Magneto added. They also look forward to performing at various spots within and outside Nairobi.
Meanwhile the Carnivore Restaurant in Nairobi will next Saturday host the Back and Forth- Old School Party.. Music will be DJs Ignyte, Redbone , D-Lyte and Me Supafly. Show starts at 4 pm.
