Gen Z protests: Missing activist Davis Lichuma found in critical condition

GEN Z ANNIVERSARY: Missing activist Davis Lichuma found admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH); Social Justice Centres Working Group and Vocal Africa say tortured patient moved to Nairobi Women's Hospital for treatment.
Happy Olal, National Convener, Social Justice Centres Working Group explained that Mr Lichuma had been found by a good Samaritan on Ngong Road, having been dumped there by his captors.
The good Samaritan then took Mr Lichuma to the emergency department of KNH on his motorbike.
Mr Lichuma, who was in pain, then borrowed a phone and informed his brother that he was at the hospital. His brother went straight there and informed Mr Olal, who together with his team also went to the hospital.
Shortly afterwards, they arranged for him to be transferred to Nairobi Women's Hospital.
Mr Olal said, "We are glad to have found him after four days of immense worry, even though he was seriously tortured and unable to explain personally what he underwent at the hands of his captors. The government recognises the right to protest, and the protests on June 25 were well organised. The police were well informed about them. The abduction of activists who were arrested on camera and, then not presented in court the following day violates human rights. We will continue to demand answers and accountability from the government."
