Alarm as fire ravages section of Aberdare Forest

A fire outbreak has consumed hundreds of acres of Aberdare Forest.
Nyandarua County Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) Warden Paul Wambugu says the responders are fighting the inferno which started three days ago.
Nyandarua County Environment CEC Wachira Mugo described the fire as huge at the west part of the forest.
"The fire is fast approaching catchment areas supplying water to Lake Ol Bolosatt and Ol Kalou town," said Mr Mugo.
"We request for urgent intervention by the national government, Kenya Forest Services and Kenya Defence Forces," Mr Mugo said on Monday morning.
