IEBC staffer charged with using fake papers to earn Sh11m

An Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) employee has been charged for using fake academic papers to secure a job.
Marcel Chepkirui Bore, who appeared before Milimani Anti-Corruption Court Magistrate Celesa Okore, denied giving false information by presenting a fake Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate with a mean grade of C+, a fact she knew was false.
Chepkirui was employed as constituency office clerk.
She is accused of uttering a false document, forgery and fraudulently earning a salary amounting to 11.1 million using a forged KCSE certificate. She denied all the counts.
She was released on a cash bail of Sh500,000 and ordered to deposit her passport in court, and not to interfere with witnesses.
