The MP was transferred to an undisclosed location as his supporters demanded his unconditional release.
Manyatta MP Gitonga Mukunji was Monday arrested by detectives and locked up at Kibii Police Station in Juja for alleged incitement to violence.
The lawmaker was picked up in the afternoon as Saba Saba protests rocked various parts of the country, including Mr Mukunji’s Embu home county. He was booked at Kibii Police Station vide Occurrence Book No 06/07/07/2025.
