On Wednesday, DCI boss Mohamed Amin stated that the MP was driven to one of the restaurants where he spent the night.
Police say the MP slept at the Ellis bar and Restaurant, along Kiganjo, Gatundu. He was found on a coffee farm in Kiambu on Monday morning.
“We were able to escalate the investigation and expose to the public that the MP was indeed not abducted. We are able to account for all his movements from the time he attended the church up to where he slept that night,” Mr Amin said.
The nation has established that the MP booked the first room in the restaurant, where the detectives visited on Monday morning in their investigations.
As of Thursday, five suspects had been arrested in connection with the entire drama, which the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, termed as an unfortunate incident that the MP used to gain public sympathy to evade a looming arrest.
